Today a new era begins for Deaf Seniors of America. I am filled with immense pride and excitement to share a momentous occasion and an important milestone in our DSA’s organization’s history. I am incredibly pleased and honored to announce the appointment of our first-ever Executive Director, Sherri Collins. For the very first time in DSA history this is a historic moment, and a dream come true for our organization. This is a part-time position and it marks an exciting step forward for DSA as we grow our capacity to advocate for and support older deaf  adults all across the country.


Sherri Collins brings a powerful combination of years of experience and passion to this role. With a proven track record in non-profit leadership, policy advocacy, and senior services as well as a clear passion for ensuring that older deaf adults have access to the resources and representation they deserve. Her passion for empowering older deaf adults is truly inspiring and she deeply understands the unique challenges faced by deaf seniors in our community. She possess the vision, the drive, and the commitment to lead DSA to new heights.


(Sherri Collins) Thank You Phil, and hello to the entire DSA community. I am deeply honored and humbled to join this incredible organization and serve as its first inaugural Executive Director. This is a pivotal moment and an exciting chapter for DSA and I am eager and committed  to work alongside all of you- our members, board, staff, volunteers, community members and supporters to strengthen our impact and amplify the voices of deaf Seniors.  Deaf seniors deserve a voice, they deserve respect, and they deserve a life filled with dignity and purpose. Together, we will continue to ensure that the voices of older deaf adults are heard and valued and we will fight for their rights, advocate for their needs, ensure they have access to the resources they need and build a more inclusive and equitable society where every deaf senior can thrive.

We are thrilled to have you on board and look forward to the progress we’ll make under your leadership.This is such a momentous occasion for DSA.This is not just an appointment; it's a declaration. A declaration that the needs of deaf seniors will no longer be ignored. A declaration that their voices will be heard loud and clear. With Sherri at the helm, we will empower deaf seniors, strengthen our advocacy efforts, expand our programs, break down systemic barriers, build a stronger and more vibrant community for deaf seniors all across the nation, and we will ensure that every single one of them has the opportunity to live a full and fulfilling life.
